But I’m not the billionaire she thinks I am. There’s a darkness within me. And Cora is a shining light. She’s beautiful. A virgin. I’m ruthless. A beast. She found me for a reason.
She’ll be my queen.
I’ll give her everything that her heart desires.
Except for one thing. Her freedom. She’s mine to keep, and I’m never letting her go.
Rating: ★★★★★(5/5)
I didn't give this series any ratings until I reached the last book, Queen of The Underworld. I wanted to see how the power dynamics were resolved so as they weren't tilted in a way that resulted in a romanticization of abuse. For me, the last book settles the struggle that you see throughout and really changes the tables on the narrative. It is very much a Hades and Persephone retelling that ends up with them as equals in the darkness they inhabit.

Rating: ★★★★★(5/5)
I honestly went into this book worried that it couldn't possibly live up to all the hopes I had placed on the author, but it did. This read was one that surpassed any expectation I had set and wowed me beyond words. Mary Higgins Clarke has continued to earn her title as the Queen of Suspense with this novel - the latest edition to her astounding collection of work.
Title: 5 Years Later
Author: Jaxson Kidman
Genre: Contemporary/Romance

When I was 18, he took my innocence
When I was 23, he said he would love me forever
When I was 28, he broke my heart
Now I'm 33... and there's a knock at the door. He's back, again. And this time he's not alone.
Rating: ★★★★★(5/5)
This book was one that anyone who follows my instagram knows I'm obsessed with now - and probably always will be. It is a perfect combination of romance, second chances, and angst which in the equation equals tears for the reader. I have never read a book as angst ridden, and well done as this one. I definitely recommend it as a romance that tugs on your heartstrings.
Title: Wanting Mr. Cane
Author: Shanora Williams
Genre: Romance

Description:
KANDY It was love at first sight when I met Mr. Cane. He was handsome, broody, tattooed, and rich. For years, he’s been mine. He just didn’t know it.
I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with him, or for him to want me in the ways that he did. None of it was ever supposed to happen, but after all we’ve done together, it’s too late to turn back now. A once harmless crush had blossomed into so much more.
CANE When we first met, she was just a kid - my best friend’s daughter. A sweet, young girl with a big heart. But now, she’s a young woman who knows what she wants, and all she wants is me.
I’ve tried holding back, pretending the connection meant nothing, but my sweet candy cane made it impossible. If anyone finds out, I’ll be ruined. I’ve worked too hard to lose everything I’ve built. But there’s just something about her that tempts me, making me want to sacrifice just about anything to have her.
Rating: ★★★★★(5/5)
Wanting Mr. Cane was a kindle unlimited book I was very excited about. Admittedly I have a thing for relationships that start out with all the odds against the couple. In this case, it was the age gap romance and everything that came with it. The series was very well done with an ease about it that made you root for the couple, even when the rest of the world was against them.
