Looking Back and My 2020 GoodReads Goal

Updated: Feb 23, 2020

Setting a yearly Goodreads goal is something many bookworms decide to take on. We all start the year with a burst of reading energy, inevitably fall into a slump, and then squeeze in one final short story before the end of the year in order to reach our goal. It is a cycle of life that those of us who join love and hate simultaneously.

I did actually reach my 2019 goal, a very low one I might add, of 35. It was filled with many anticipated reads, kindle unlimited romances, and addictive standalones. I came in over my goal with 36 books read. Despite how low it was I will consider it a win. Here's my list of 2019 reads:

Beauty and The Billionaire by Lauren Landish

The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh (Favorite of 2019)

Dirty Talk by Lauren Landish

No Tomorrow by Carian Cole

Consumed by Sara Fields

Leave No Trace by Mindy Mejia

The Trilogy and novella Wanting Mr. Cane by Shanora Williams

5 Years Later by Jaxson Kidman and London Casey

Alpha's Danger by Renee Rose and Lee Savino

Alpha's Blood by Renee Rose and Lee Savino

Alpha's Temptatin by Renee Rose and Lee Savino

I've Got My Eyes On You by Mary Higgins Clarke (Favorite of 2019)

Caged by Alta Hensley

The Innocence Trilogy by Lee Savino and Stasia Black (Favorite of 2019)

Fortuna Sworn by K.J. Sutton

Light Filters in Poems by Caroline Kaufman

Belly Up by Eva Darrows

Two Can Keep A Secret by Karen M. McManus

Romanov by Nadine Brandes (Favorite of 2019)

The After series by Anna Todd (Favorite of 2019)

The murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie

Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling

A Danger To Herself and Others by Alyssa B. Sheinmel

Immortal Girls by Griffin Stark

In 2020 I decided to up my goal, which I'm still not sure is a good thing, to 50 books. I hope to read at least this much before the year end. My hope is that this year will have less reading slumps - something I dealt with a lot in 2019 for months at a time. I love reading and I want to focus on making it a priority this year. Wish me luck!
