Fairyloot October 2020 Wicked Hearts Unboxing
*Spoilers for October 2020 Wicked Hearts Fairyloot Box*
Hello everyone! I always love a Fairyloot October box. My first box ever from them was the October 2019 box when I decided to take a jump with a one time purchase. The theme was vampires back then which, much like the 2020 October theme, was very suited for the spooky season. It was in that box that I received my copy of The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh, a now much-beloved series. I definitely consider it to be my lucky month for Fairyloot.

I'm happy to report that the streak still did not break this year. The box was a tad bit later than I anticipated, but what isn't in the time of COVID. I already had checked spoilers so I knew what was arriving and in my opinion, it was well worth it. This box was maybe my favorite of the year which is a bold statement coming from me as a now pretty consistent subscriber.
Now, we move onto the SPOILER filled unboxing so stay tuned if you want to see that or exit if you're still patiently waiting for your box.
Kingdom of The Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco
I have a confession to make. Even as someone who has never read a Kerri Maniscalco book, Kingdom of The Wicked was the main reason that I got this box. I probably shouldn't have but the book sounded absolutely perfect and had me giving heart-eyes. I mean what can go wrong with demons, fantasy, and romance in a lethal combination.

What I'm saying is, I caved to the hype. I know bookstagram has been buzzing about Kingdom of The Wicked and I wasn't about to miss out on this edition. And I'm so glad I didn't.
Fairyloot's Kingdom of The Wicked is their proclaimed "one of the best editions" they've ever done and I maybe agree with them. It features an exclusive cover, black sprayed and stencil edges, artwork on the reverse dust jacket by @morgana0anagrom on instagram, a foil design by the same designer, and a signed bookplate. So basically the book is irrefutably gorgeous.
Aside from all of that, they also included an exclusive bonus chapter which I was so thrilled about. I think that to me is the peak of an exclusive book because, despite what I may sometimes say, it's what's on the inside that counts. In this case, bonus content

Description: Two sisters.
One brutal murder.
A quest for vengeance that will unleash Hell itself…
And an intoxicating romance.
Emilia and her twin sister Vittoria are streghe – witches who live secretly among humans, avoiding notice and persecution. One night, Vittoria misses dinner service at the family’s renowned Sicilian restaurant. Emilia soon finds the body of her beloved twin…desecrated beyond belief. Devastated, Emilia sets out to find her sister’s killer and to seek vengeance at any cost-even if it means using dark magic that’s been long forbidden.
Then Emilia meets Wrath, one of the Wicked-princes of Hell she has been warned against in tales since she was a child. Wrath claims to be on Emilia’s side, tasked by his master with solving the series of women’s murders on the island. But when it comes to the Wicked, nothing is as it seems…

Kingdom of The Wicked Salt & Pepper Shakers
The salt and pepper shakers included in the box were actually inspired by the book of the month, Kingdom of The Wicked. I like that you automatically got some merch for the series aside from the usual extras. The quote on them says, "By Earth, Moon and Stone, Bless This Hearth, Bless This Home." I think that's such a great quote for an everyday household item like salt and pepper shakers. It is printed in a foil design by @noverantale on instagram which is just so beautiful. I really am probably going to use them in photos for my bookstagram more than anything.

Foiled Playing Cards
I was very intrigued by the idea of foiled playing cards with amazing art. I have a soft spot for any kind of art print and I thought these cards were a great idea. The cards feature characters from The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller, The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh, Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson, and Darkest Stars by Heather Fawcett. Personally, my favorite are the cards for The Beautiful. The design was done by @arz28 on instagram. They are one of those things that are too stunning to actually use so I'll just be admiring them on my shelves.

The Young Elites by Marie Lu Enamel Pin
While I will admit that I'm not the biggest fan of enamel pins as they're just not my personal preference, this one is really stunning from an objective point of view. The Enamel Pin is inspired by The Young Elites by Marie Lu and features the saying, "It is my turn to use. My turn to hate". It was designed by @alchemyandink on instagram. I'm actually familiar with this shop which was just so cool to see an item from them included. Their candles are the usual thing I have my eye on but I appreciate the enamel pin.

Caraval by Stephanie Garber Bookish Puzzle
Fairyloot included a bookish puzzle for all fans of Caraval by Stephanie Garber. It is supposed to display the character of Jacks from the books. The puzzle was illustrated by @sallteas on instagram. I feel like this is just such a unique and fun item for anyone, whether you've read the books or not. I may not know anything about Caraval by Stephanie Garber but I do love a good puzzle so I'll be working this anyway. I'm secretly an old lady in a 20 year old's body.

Castlevania Bookish Socks
Who doesn't love bookish socks? If you don't, I do not accept your opinion. They're a universally usable item and something you can wear anywhere. I'm the biggest fan of receiving them with any theme - even if my relatives inevitably steal them from me (told you they were universally usable). This pair of socks was inspired by the Castlevania series with a design by @jezhawk on instagram. I'm pretty sure I'll be wearing these even if I don't understand the reference behind them.

Kylo Ren Sticker Sheet
Again, this post may as well just be about stuff I know nothing about because I know nothing about Star Wars or Kylo Ren. Saying that, if I was a fan I guarantee I'd love these because they're just so high quality and detailed. They were designed with an illustration by @_saintdri. on instagram. One day I will get a sticker sheet with a fandom I'm a part of but until then I can continue to admire these from afar. But, if you are a Star Wars fan then I imagine you're very happy this month.

Nine & Ten of Swords Tarot Cards
Finally, we have the monthly tarot cards which are included in every box. This month was the nine and ten of swords cards. The characters featured are from House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas which is maybe the most popular author to ever grace the bookish community. This month the tarot cards were illustrated by @arz28 on instagram and I can assure you they're stunning.
