Exciting New Releases: November 2021

Hello everyone! How are you all doing? As the year comes to a close month by month, there are always a few new releases that garner my attention. With November being at the tail end of 2021, it's a great time to reflect on reads of months past. I've been told that there are fewer releases this time of year than usual, but I've absolutely found books that have caught my eye. Specifically, this is the time where rom-coms thrive, some holiday themed. And as anyone who knows me can attest, I love a good rom-com.

These are some reads that I've had my eye on for the month. Do you plan to read any?

Author Interview

Description: Christmas is a time we all cherish and adore, right? Not for 23-year-old photographer Holly, who after losing her mother on December 17th at the tragic age of 14, despises Christmas, and everything about it. Her love life is non existent, her friends list is practically zero, and she barely sees her family. Wanting to escape the holidays and the loneliness of her 4 apartment walls, Holly jumps at the opportunity to accept a photoshoot request from a family in England for 3 days. The request comes from charming Justin, who organises the photoshoot for his sister who is engaged, and his terminally ill grandmother.

Holly leaves her life behind and is unknowingly thrust into a world where Christmas, quite literally, throws up on her. To make matters worse, adverse weather conditions mean she may have to stay with the family and suffer through the festivities longer than she hoped.

After finding out about Holly’s dislike for Christmas, Justin makes a bet; he can make her fall in love with Christmas by the time she goes home. If he loses the bet, Holly keeps the family as a high paying client for life. Sounds tempting, doesn’t it? Will he succeed? Or will she continue to harness her bitter heart and miss out on the opportunity of a lifetime?

Title: Cupcake

Author: Cookie O'Gorman

Genre: Romance

Published: November 2, 2021

Publisher: Entangled Teen

Description: I know what you're thinking.

You're thinking this will be just one more story of the ignored, "big-boned " girl, who sheds her glasses and a few extra pounds and finally attracts the notice of the most popular guy in school.

Except it isn't. Because I'm not unpopular. Not all that ignored. And I love the way I look―just as I am.

Then someone puts my name in for Homecoming Court.

The bigger surprise?

People actually vote for me!

Now, I'm a "princess"―whether I like it or not―but the guy I'm paired with isn't exactly Prince Charming.

Rhys Castle is the strong, silent type who always wears a frown―he's certainly never smiled at me. I'm 99.9% sure he hates being on Court and being my partner, but surprisingly…he doesn't switch when he gets the chance.

Turns out Rhys has a secret―something that makes him run hot and cold throughout the entire three weeks of Homecoming festivities. Whether he's stepping on my feet during dance lessons or gallantly escorting me through the Homecoming parade, I can't get a read on this guy, and for the first time, I find my confidence wavering.

But there's more to Rhys than meets the eye. And the more the spotlight shines on me, I realize there's more to me, too.

Title: How To Survive A Modern-Day Fairy tale

Author: Elle Cruz

Genre: Romance

Published: November 30, 2021

Publisher: Entangled Publishing

Description: This is no ordinary Cinderella story from #OwnVoices debut author Elle Cruz. Claire never believed in fairy tales—that is, until she met Nate—in this fun, flirty rom-com.

Claire Ventura is nothing like the poised and perfect heroines she reads about in her favorite romance novels. She’s a quirky, people-pleasing bookworm with a degree in Women’s Studies and an internet cookie decorator all rolled into a five-foot-two package fueled by chamomile tea.

And most of all, Claire loves her grandmother, Lola. Claire was always her favorite grandchild, and they shared a special bond. So when Lola inches into her nineties and Alzheimer’s starts chipping away at the vital and independent woman she used to be, the whole family dynamic starts shifting in a new direction.

Then Claire meets Nate, the CEO of a mega tech company, and he takes her to Paris. Hailed as the next Mark Zuckerberg, Nate is a fast-rising star in the tech industry, and he’s just fallen head-over-heels for Claire. Together, Claire and Nate must learn to navigate their personal and professional lives and, in the end, Nate proves to Claire that fairytale endings are really just the beginning.
